VComm Crypto System

ID:  2040

Object Description

The VComm Crypto System object can be used in conjunction with VComm Radio Objects to provide simulated radio encryption. There are a number of encryption devices, and the DIS Enumerations document contains a subset of these and is being updated. For more information on how Cyrpto Systems work in V+, refer to the VComm User's Manual.

To use the object, simply connect the radio handle output of a radio object to the radio handle input of this object. The data that is present on the input pins is sent to the radio object and can be changed while V+ is running.

Input Pins

HANDLE

Radio handle from either the VComm GENERIC Radio, V8 DIS Only or VComm GENERIC Radio, V8 DIS/HLA radio objects.

CRYPT SYS

Provides the type of Crypto system to model. The following are valid values for this pin:

0 - Other

1 - KY-28

2 - KY-58

3 - Narrow Spectrum Secure Voice (NSVE)

4 - Wide Spectrum Secure Voice (WSVE)

5 - SINCGARS ICOM

100 - KYV-5 ANDVT   (This enumeration has not yet been approved for the DIS standard.)

1002 - KY-58 Cypher Only Mode   (This enumeration is used by VComm to enable the Crypto System object to go into KY-58 Cypher Only Mode and is not part of the DIS standard.)

Note that these values come from the DIS Enumerations document which accompany the IEEE DIS standard, and are subject to change.

CRYPT KEY

Key value for the crypto system.

Range: Any positive floating point number. All negative values will be treated as 0.

Example

The figure below presents an example of how the VComm Crypto System object is used with a VComm GENERIC Radio, V8 DIS Only object. Note that the CYPT SYS pin is set to 2 which is the value for a KY-58.
