VComm Receiver Audio RMS Level

ID:  2030

Object Description

The VComm Receiver Audio RMS Level object can be used in conjunction with VComm Radio Objects. It is a VComm monitoring object which attaches to a VComm radio so as to observe the radio receiver model's RMS level of the audio.

Note: This is a computationally intensive object. It will perform the RMS calculations for all incoming transmissions to this object's radio. It might affect your V+ performance if used.

To use the object, simply connect the radio handle output of a radio object to the radio handle input of this object. The output pin can be connected to anything accepting floating point input (such as an output port or a No Connection object).

Input Pin

HNDL

This input pin determines which radio is monitored by this object. This pin should be connected to the radio handle output pin of the radio object to be controlled.

Output Pin

RMS

Root-Mean-Square - This is a measure of the audio level expressed in millivolts (mV).

Example

The figure below presents an example of how the VComm Receiver Audio RMS Level object is used with a VComm GENERIC Radio, V8 DIS Only object. In this example, the RMS level of an incoming transmission is 0.557305 volts RMS.
