VComm Signal Strength

ID:  2018

Object Description

The VComm Signal Strength object can be used in conjunction with VComm Radio Objects. It is a VComm monitoring object which attaches to a VComm radio so as to observe the signal strength of any incoming reception.

To use the object, simply connect the radio handle output of a radio object to the radio handle input of this object. The output pin can be connected to anything accepting floating point input (such as an output port or a No Connection object).

Input Pin

HNDL

This input pin determines which radio is monitored by this object. This pin should be connected to the radio handle output pin of the radio object to be controlled.

Output Pin

LVL

The output pin produces the signal strength level of an incoming radio reception and is provided in units deciBel-milliwatts (dBm).

Example

The figure below presents an example of how the VComm Signal Strength object is used with a VComm GENERIC Radio, V8 DIS Only object. In this example, the signal strngth of an incoming transmission is 19.68 dBm.
